friend or foe?

Lace boots are all the rage this season. So with some research i've picked a few out that might not make us look like the Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Don't they kind of remind you of that though?

I personally think the bootie (ankle) ones are less likely to be mistaken for you residing at Little House on the Prairie.

Not really a boot but this is my kind of lace up shoe the Tabitha Simmons Bertie Linen and Leather Courts....
Where to buy these puppies:
1. Gianvito Rossi
2. Mcdade Lace Front
3. Bionda Castana

this and that

I am in the mood for shopping! It's seems like ages since I have bought something. I am trying to behave with my Thailand trip coming up but I couldn't help and peak at some Super Sweet Summer Sales!

the race is on

Sorry for the loooooong absence- I was swept away with summer but planning on a good return! : ) so what’s been happening????
I would like to chat about something very summery: The Galway Races in Galway, Ireland. This weekend long horse racing event is comparable to the Kentucky Derby and a time when the Irish really out do themselves not just with the Guinness. Similar to the derby, I love checking out the style as everyone is dressed to impress on the Ladies Day. None the less this year was beautiful and I thought I’d share some of my favorites.
And who said the Irish can’t dress??
The impeccable detailing and taste is inspiring. I want to run right out and pick up a hair piece. The look is so very romantic and charming. I think we need to start doing this more here in Chicago- who's with me??

blooming

Floral prints seem to be sprouting up everywhere from dresses to shower curtains to furniture! I am digging the dresses at the moment as I need to put my gray and black ensembles away for next winter and bust out the romantic bright floral dresses offered this season. I love that you can totally accessorize any of the dresses with a belt, a pair of flats, skyhigh heels, simple hair pieces, solid colored cardigans, or whatever else you've got in your closet! There are so many choices in various price ranges.

Let's commence with the gorgeous Super Splurge, Matthew Williamson

what actually ends up on the shopping list:

the british are coming

surprised and happy to see that Karen Millen is opening a store here in Chicago!
Proof shot taken @ 900 N Michigan Ave
I always liked heading to Seldfridges to see her collections when I lived in London and soon it will be here in my back yard. I am really looking forward to the opening. She tends to have edgy tailored sophisticated pieces which are perfect for day to evening wear. The prices can be on the expensive side but adding just one garment or accessory will totally enhance your wardrobe. Aren't the heels and jacket amazing? ooh lovely!

I need an opening date!

School Wardrobe Envy

I love Glee! Glee is such a fun and quirky show. Mind you there were a few moments in season 1 when it was bit juvenile and I thought to myself "why am I watching a high school drama show??" Then the next thing I knew I was sucked in by the songs, the dancing and the hilarious Ms. Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). So if you're skeptical click on the video...HILARIOUS!

On to the important bits: the Style
Two character's attires standout as my favorites: Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) & Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays). I love lots of pieces from their looks and thanks to both for reminding me that cardigans in bright colors can be so darn cute dressed up or while running earrands.

Rachel- Even myself as a blondie, I love her dark hair and dark look. Rachel's wardrobe is full of skirts, knee high socks, flats, and shirts with vests. A very preppy girly style...

Sometimes it gets a little on the punky bruster side of things but overall I like the look. I am really digging the belt with the dress and the knee highs with flats in a skirt for cool spring days. I especially like the gold flats with the black socks as I just purchased these Choos in Palm Beach. Pefecto!

Emma's look is a sweetheart style full of colors layered then a sudden hint of contrast, lots o'cardigans, embellished blouses and chunky jewelry. She's a bit quirky on the show and it suits her wardrobe.

Real Life Finds for these looks
For the spring I will certianly be rocking knee high stockings
