I am having a fun time pursuing Utility Designs, a  British home company based out of Liverpool. I love that it's an independent place with funky choices and a WIDE price range. Hope to make it to the store someday, Go Everton! ; )

Dear TopShop,
I am so glad you opened a beautiful store in NY this past fall as it's allowed us to purchase your products with american dollars! I am fan of your collections, accessories and your reasonable prices.  Fingers crossed you'll open one in Chicago someday, we'd swear to be extra nice to you!

blooming

Floral prints seem to be sprouting up everywhere from dresses to shower curtains to furniture! I am digging the dresses at the moment as I need to put my gray and black ensembles away for next winter and bust out the romantic bright floral dresses offered this season. I love that you can totally accessorize any of the dresses with a belt, a pair of flats, skyhigh heels, simple hair pieces, solid colored cardigans, or whatever else you've got in your closet! There are so many choices in various price ranges.

Let's commence with the gorgeous Super Splurge, Matthew Williamson

what actually ends up on the shopping list:

3. Mod Cloth $50         4. Karen Millen $299
PS I am head over heels with this floral chair by Matthew Williamson from Heart & Design:

the british are coming

surprised and happy to see that Karen Millen is opening a store here in Chicago!

I always liked heading to Seldfridges to see her collections when I lived in London and soon it will be here in my back yard. I am really looking forward to the opening. She tends to have edgy tailored sophisticated pieces which are perfect for day to evening wear. The prices can be on the expensive side but adding just one garment or accessory will totally enhance your wardrobe. Aren't the heels and jacket amazing? ooh lovely!

I need an opening date!

Take a little trip Take a little trip and See

I am really looking forward to checking out the to new West Elm store that just opened in the city! Hooray no more treks out to Oak Brook, where until now the only IL store existed!

West Elm, to me, reflects some key elements when looking for home or office furnishings: Simple, Modern & (mostly) Affordable.  Their style really doesn't waver away from the simple side of things, which is why you can add a piece to your space whatever your taste may be and it usually works!

A HUGE bonus is that many of the items at West Elm come assembled, so no accidently screwing through the new TV stand you just purchased...whoops! If furniture is not what you need, I am seeing lots of textures and accent pieces that would compliment most tastes...definitely want to curl up with one of those throws!

I love these clips shown for curtains but the clips could certainly be used for hanging art work, pictures,  or dried flowers. I could also totally use them in my accessory closet (yes I have an accessory closet-very handy when getting ready) to hang small towels, scarves, headbands or whatever! Really anything would look great hanging from these clips!

I am really digging these "Scoop Back" chairs that I came across, so FUN! The grey striped chair seems to be calling my name, tres chic.I wonder if their comfortable or awkward?

So without stepping a foot in the store, the only foreseeable downside is that it's located where every other store happens to be off North Ave, so getting there will be an adventure-any takers?
